rural business network

we have worked in partnership with the rural business network for over five years, using our technology platform to deliver on-line business solutions to the agricultural industry.

the rural business network started as a collaboration between the three largest farming organisations in england; the nfu, the cla and adas.  it is now a private company with clients from across the agricultural industry, including the national farmers' union of scotland, scottish landowners' federation, assured crops and cws broadoak, one of the uk's largest farm collectives.

our technology is used by the national farmers union for a number of web sites: www.nfunet.org.uk, their members' portal; their professional members' site www.nfuprofessional.org.uk and also within their call centre.

our unified publishing system means that nfu staff can publish a document once and it appears on all their sites immediately. subscription and security controls mean that professional members have access to more information than standard members or the general public, all without any duplication of effort.

the country land and business association use our technology to run their members' site www.claonline.org.uk and have an online shop for selling tickets to the annual cla gamefair at www.clagamefair.co.uk.

the rural business network also use our e-commerce technology to run shopping and recruitment websites. rbn shops is an online shopping mall providing an inexpensive way for small retailers to sell online. rbn jobs is one of the few recruitment sites dedicated to jobs within the agricultural industry. both of these sites integrate with the membership database used for the rbn's community sites.

in association with the rbn, nfu and adas, we developed cattlemail. the first website for submitting cattle movements and passport applications, required by law as a result of the bse enquiry. cattlemail integrated our membership system with a database for storing movements, which were then transmitted to bcms, the british cattle movement service.

net resources international (nri)

we were responsible for the database design and web publishing tools which enabled net resources international to make the transition to an automated publishing system.

we (through tlr's defence information arm) are also responsible for the editorial provision for the three defence technology websites run by net resources international (www.army-technology.com, www.naval-technology.com and www.airforce-technology.com), which are acknowledged to be among the best in the world, and are widely used as an up-to-date source of information by both industry professionals and service personnel.

following the sale of nri to sterling publications, we have continued to provide editorial content for the three defence technology websites and have added responsibility for a fourth site, www.aerospace-technology.com.
